In 1964 one of his paintings was chosen by the Los Angeles Municipal Art Patrons and Mayor Sam Yorty for the front cover of the Barnsdale Museum catalog. He has lectured on art at several Colleges among them the American University branch in Hawaii where he lived for over fifteen years. While in Hawaii he was involved and instrumental in the creation of the Lahaina Art Society, the Beaux Arts Ball and charity auction, participated and managed the Red Cross Art auction in 1977 where he raised over sixty thousand dollars for the Red Cross, and helped to rebuild the historical Jodo Temple which was destroyed by fire with a donation and auction sale of his work.
His life long interest besides painting,Zen and calligraphy is collecting Asian art and the study of the Martial arts of Japan. He holds a eight degree black belt in Aikido and a fourth degree in Judo.
He and his wife, who is a restoration artist, live on a ranch in NW Montana where they raise Arabian horses, teach and work.
